I'm sure you all know about my problem. I made the peanut butter/can/bucket trap. The web shows many pictures of them in varied styles, some look great and some look clunky, but they all kill mice. Not mine. Are they that smart? It's been a few days and nothing. Yesterday, I was on my comp and Mr. Jingles was all over my desk checking out my stuff. Gutsy little guy. I would say not full grown. (They will all be called Mr. Jingles, BTW.)
This morning, I caught Mr. Jingles 1 in my live trap. Sorry it's such a lousy picture. Jill watched it with great interest, but I was afraid to let her have it. DH dispatched it. Well, that's bucket 0, Tacky 1, live trap 1, only about 50 or more to go ...
It's a beautiful evening out. It is the first full moon I've seen for a few months. It's 65F, cloudless, and the wind has finally died down. Perfect!
Today would have been my sister's birthday. Gloria would be 78 now. It's odd how I always got her birthday mixed up with my brother's, his is the 22nd. Since I found a fondness for the moon, I can keep it straight now. We celebrated her birthday in '69!
She's gone 24 years now, but I still think of her often and hope I dream of her. It's always good to see her, if only in my dreams.
Yes, I realize that it's late and I belong in bed, I'm heading there shortly. You have to know that I am a bit beside myself without my characters from "Julia".
Well, Happy Birthday, Gloria, I hope to 'see you' soon!
I was afraid I would not be able to shoot the full moon on the 22nd, so the night before, I took some shots. Though not full, I like the 'almost' super moon better. You can see the craters at the bottom in fair detail. I suppose one can only expect just so much out of a camera at the price we paid. It is not a telescope and there is so much pollution in the air. (the camera moves with my pulse and breathing, too - my tripod had to be my knees - not an excuse - just the reason) I think many of us 'night people' have an attraction to the moon. We (the dogs, cat and I) spent quite some time enjoying the evening and night on the front porch, bug-less for a change.
