Doctor visit

I went to see my pulmonologist yesterday. Yes, it's been a while. He seemed surprised to see me, like he thought I had died or something. I suppose I look a little like death warmed over. I was shocked to see how old and worn he looked, as if he bore all the sorrow of disease in all his patients. Sigh. We all get old ...

Had x-rays, 3 breathing tests, and blood work. Guess I will get results when I go back in a couple weeks. The technician did say that one of the breathing tests showed that I am breathing out nearly as much o2 as I breathe in. My exchange jobbies aren't functioning.

New drugs to try ... We'll see. The office visit was like forever and I was totally exhausted by the time I got back into the car to come home. Slept like the dead last night. I hope I don't have to do this very often.

The new dishwasher is wonderful. So quiet, we don't have to turn up the TV!

Have bud thoughts on my mint, finally.

Lawn needs mowed, it will not stay dry long enough for him to do it. The humidity is high and you can see it. Dew is heavy in the morning or it rains ...

Currently watching One Step Beyond. (In spurts) DVD player in TV is dying.

That's it for now, I need a nap. Have a good day!

  1. Glad you're touching bases with your doctor again. Sometimes they actually do have new meds that work better than the old. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you...

  3. I'm glad you went to see the doctor, hope the tests will be OK. I get so tired too and all there's to do is to rest, I guess.

  4. Such an appointment, with all the tests, must be exhausting.

I remember, back "at the beginning of time," when.... In order to get out of hospital, you had to do one of those breath-into-etc. things... do it RIGHT. Make the little ball go up far enough, or some such. I thought I'd never be let out of the dang hospital.

-hahhh- Today, hospitals are giving you "go-home-papers", about 3 hours after, they "sign you in"!!!!

Good luck. For the new meds, to do their job.

    Gentle hugs, Luna Crone

  5. "Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond" Had to look that up! Alcoa!!!! Wow, that's a blast from the past. Is Alcoa even around, any more??? Ooops, my husband said it is!! Good for them!

    Ran 59 - 61. Don't really remember it though.

I forgot where you are getting these old shows "from." I have gotten Netflix, but don't use DVD's with that...

  8. It's a shame your body isn't able to assimilate all that lovely oxygen, I can't begin to imagine how tired you must feel. Hope the new medications help a lot. Is this the type of thing where a lung transplant would help? If that was an option?

    1. They wanted to do transplant 5-6 yr. ago, was almost all set up, but I didn't go through with it for a variety of reasons.

  9. I've also noticed my Doctor started looking quite a bit older, maybe they age quicker than us.

Good luck with the new medications and the grass will be there when he gets ready to mow.
