I'm all around boring...

So, I got my report back from 23andMe. Where  DH's is, I don't know. There is nothing exciting going on in my family, nothing I was surprised about. Like me, my family didn't seem to get around much. Ha Ha. I suppose I was hoping for an odd bit of blood from exotic places, but no such luck.
I hope you can read this okay. There is more junk, but no biggy, says if I don't have hair on my back(God Forbid) I have a certain Neanderthal genome from relatives with hairless backs. O-kay ...

Enjoy the rest of your day! 'See' you tomorrow!

  1. Cool!!!

I have not gotten my test back yet. But I was emailed/told, when it was being worked on, and that it is now done. Have to wait, to get the final email report. :-)

All I know about, are from Ireland, Scotland, Germany and Austria. Will be interesting to see if family lore is correct, on that. And if I have more, than just those 4.

Oh wow, hope I have a Neanderthal genome from relatives with hairless backs!!!! How cool is that????????

  3. Based on my mother's heritage, I'm guessing mine would be similar, but Dad's heritage is an unknown factor so there's a possibility of something unexpected, but I'll never know.

    1. A DNA would change that unknown ... Just saying.

  7. Hello SQ...haven't seen you on FB for a while...you still there? Of course sometimes I go a few days with out checking...so we may have passed like ships in the night :) I sent my DNA in several years ago for the mitochondrial thing. As I told my son recently there were no big surprises there...we're out of Africa, Italy, Germany and England. I don't think they were doing the Neanderthal connection when I had mine done. Happy to see you're still hanging in there...won't make any promises but will try to check back more often ;)

    1. Hi, Theanne! Yep, I am still around, not as much as I used to be, I guess. I was wondering where you were, ha ha.I think of you and Baron often and wonder how things are going for you. So nice to 'hear' from you!

  10. Husband has a very hairy back. He makes me shave it in the summer! Mine is smooth - unlike most of me. I must be less neanderthal than you. More prehistoric no doubt.

  11. I did 23andMe a couple of years ago and found it pretty interesting. Over the last couple of years a have had a handful of messages through 23andMe from relatives that appeared on their "shared DNA" lists. The person that I share the most similar DNA with is a 2nd cousin I hadn't seen or spoken to since I was a little girl.

After I got my results back from 23andMe, I downloaded it to Promethease for it to be analyzed to medical information. I figured for $5.00 it would be worth reading. It was also interesting. I don't have too many variants nor do am I a carrier for any disease worth mentioning. Seems my major medical issue is that I can't digest fruit fructose very efficiently. I am willing to take that as I don't show any type of variant for Alzheimer.
