For several weeks, I have been catching glimpses of this pretty, tan bird. You know how wonderful my eye sight is - I have to use my camera to see what I'm looking at. This morning, it decided to pay me a real visit. I think it's a flicker. I was wrong! Thank you T. for the correct ID! Brown Thrasher it is!
Last night, it was getting dark and raining. I noticed a little lump in the shelf of the abandoned 'house' bird feeder. I turned on the camera to zoom in to see what the lump was. I was unable to get the camera to stay in focus for a shot. My lump was a light green parakeet! Somebody must have left the window open. It was not what I had expected. I'm going to watch for it today, maybe it's some kind of trained.
The red-bellied woodpecker came by again this morning for a snack. I am getting a regular 'family' here. We really need to find a wholesale bird seed merchant! DH already grumbling about the high cost of my 'habit'. I could tell him it's cheaper than pot! Hah!

New Arrival
Red-Bellied Woodpecker and friend. I did not see a red belly. He (?) was here a couple of minutes and now he (?) is gone. He did look at me with a stink-eye, I think. An interesting addition to our guest list.

Memories
Years ago, I lived in Montana. The family took the train to Saint Paul to visit family. It was a common thing back then, and people could afford to ride. I was a teen and never thought about it being a problem, I carried my 'stash' of silver dollars along to go shopping. We still used them at home, but the cash registers in St. Paul didn't have a place for them. I wish I had realized that the silver dollar was going to be worth more than a dollar, down the road. I could have used some of that knowledge.
Inflation has really decided to run wild, hasn't it? (Although I must say that silver and gold have not kept up with the toilet paper and bread) There are days when I not only think I live on a different world, I think I am in a different universe.

Just call me "Tired of sticker shock."
(It seems they change prices every month.)

This and that...
Happy Mothers Day to all you gals!
I have been having a little problem with my left leg and foot. Pretty ugly, huh? I suppose I needed the flowers to offset the problem. Right?
Short visit, I only had time for the one shot.
Now I can see where the birdseed goes... I caught these cowbirds, flicking through the seeds to select just what they wanted. They went through over half a filling in less than a half hour. I am rethinking the use of this feeder...
Wishing you all a great weekend. I need to go put my leg up again, sorry I haven't been around much. Take care now.

Visitor
This little guy stopped by for a while a few days ago, no sign of him since. He must have been passing through.
