See You Later ...

Son has a new job in California. He has packed his car full of necessities and he left a few minutes ago. He's going to run smack dab into the middle of that storm.
All that planning and I forgot to change the resolution on the camera. Now, it's too late to fix that. J n J are going to miss their boy, but not as much as I will. I was getting used to his weekly visits. I'm pretty bummed, see you guys later. Take care!

  1. I'll bet he enjoys California, most of it is right nice country.

"I like that security thing - maybe it would make the neighbor dogs think twice about mauling my cat and tearing into my garbage barrel."

If I had a need for something like that I would make my own, with a fast burning fuse. And being into the mountain man stuff I already have the things to make them with.

    1. It's been half a century since I lived there and a quarter of one since my last visit. I think he will like it if he's on a bus route.

Bleep dogs were barking right next to my window at 3 a.m. Maybe I should go with my first thought ...

  2. Sometimes it hurts to see our children become independent. I hope the new job works out for him but no doubt you will continue to miss him.

    1. I missed him when he spent two years in Florida and the year he worked up in Illinois - no doubt I will miss him this time as well. Sigh ...

  5. With modern tech these days you can contact him in a number of ways and it will feel like he is right there in the room with you hopefully he won't be affected by the storm too badly xxx

    1. I know, it's just the distance ...

He ran into that storm and could only drive 5-10 mph until they passed each other up. He said dodging the foot deep potholes was a major problem. Will be better for him today.

  6. I know you're "bummed" SJQ...I haven't quite figured out what I'd do if my son and his family moved from Florida. Probably go back to Virginia so I could be closer to where Don is buried. Hope your son traveled safely through the storm and has a safe trip to California. I know it's not the same...but SKYPE could help!
