DH bought me this petunia and a couple of impatiens for the porch. The petunia has been residing at (shudder) Wal Mart since the season began and looks much the worse for wear. Hasn't been dead headed and it has become leggy and woe begone. I am going to have to cross my fingers and hope when I clean it up that I don't kill it in the process. It should have been marked down! Well, anyway, I will give it a shot ...
awww. hope it bounces back. :)
ReplyDeleteMy petunia actual aren't doing bad this year.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
I noticed that!
DeleteFor the petunia, trim the roots just a little when you repot it and deadhead, then let it settle a week or so before trimming it back a bit less than you'd like to so it doesn't get stressed. it should recover and next season you can trim it as you normally would.
ReplyDeleteIs already looking better, I soaked the dirt and started trimming. I don't believe I will bring it in this fall, no good place to hang it.
DeleteI used to always grow Petunias. I should buy some more. Do you put Epsom salts water on yours? I think that is what I used in the past.
ReplyDeleteEpsom salts? No, I didn't know you should. I used to grow them at the other house, in a flower bed.I used Miracle-Grow on them, I think.
DeleteIt looks so pretty. I'm sure once Yu give it some TLC it will come back better then ever
