Delusions of Grandeur

I spent the evening with PBS last night until the witching hour. Getting excited about Poldark beginning the new season next Sunday.

I am seriously thinking about a major rewrite of my Julia series. I may make total hash out of it, but I think I could do better. That's where the delusions of grandeur comes in. There were a few things I didn't like, like killing off a main character that I would like to rectify. I'm not making any sales, but I'll leave them where they are until I have a work I like better. Maybe it will keep me going ...

Have a good week!

  3. I'd say go for it too, because it may just nag at you if you don't. And I'm so looking forward to the continuing saga of that handsome lad, Poldark. Did you like the books?

    1. Yes, I loved the books, although the last one or two lacked that certain something type of charm. We have to remember he was getting on in years ... :-)

    2. That's what bothers me about books that becomes a series and TV shows too. The first few books or TV seasons are great, but then the author runs out of steam, but the contract is for five books or ten seasons of a TV show, so the author/producer has to deliver, but it's just "filler" without the enjoyment.

    3. I saw that happening when I wrote - the lost steam.

    1. I don't think smashwords and amazon are compatible, I'm not sure though.

  6. I totally understand the wanting to redo. I haven't ever written a book but when I go back and read articles I have written, I realize that I would of said things differently. Sometimes it takes time and distance to alter your perspective.

    1. Yes, that plus reading many more *good* books. The story is a good one, it's pilot error that didn't make it fly.

  7. It's been my experience that if something is nagging at you you won't be satisfied until you address it. If you feel it needs to be done, in the words of Nike, "Just do it!" :)

  8. Oh wow! Really?! That will be interesting... I actually read my one and only book that I wrote (last month) and as I'm reading I'm thinking OH GOSH>>> I NEED TO WRITE THIS OVER... LOL! But that will likely not happen. ha! I was just thinking that maybe this winter I will get into a re-read of the Julia series. Love that era! It will be a lot of work for you, but it will be very interesting to see what you do with it. You go girl!

    1. Yes, did you even imagine I would do that after all this time? I'm thinking of making it just one book, er ... one BIG book. Right now, I am clearing out superfluous words and mainly looking it over. I'm seeing spots that need clarifying and I'm only on page 50 of the first book. Still reads okay, but not top drawer if you know what I mean. My punctuation is worse, lol!

  9. I didn't know you were a published author!
I'm waiting for a new season of a series also, The Blacklist which should be beginning sometime this week or next, but in USA, not here :(

    1. I am an Indie author, self published.
Black list - I am not familiar with that. What channel is that on?

    2. It's called "The Blacklist" and stars James Spader, as Raymond 'Red' Reddington, Megan Boone, as Lizzie Keen, Ryan Eggold as Tom Keen, and here in Australia it is on channel seven, but don't know what channel it would be on over there.
