Summer Heat

This is a cowbird, making good use of the fountain. His little friend wasn't game to join him though. He made three trips to the water, dipping and splashing each time. The red you see is a berry stain from last year, I couldn't get it out, so it isn't leaching into the water. It just looks god-awful.
Let me tell you, it's hot here in the devil's armpit!

  1. We've been lucky this summer...hasn't been terribly hot. Not a normal MD summer.

  3. The birds don't seem to bathe in my birdbath but they do drink out of it so I try to keep it full.

  5. How lucky for them you have a steady supply of water for them. I try and always have water for all the birds in the summer too. Right now there is plenty of water around for them lol

  6. The birds are really loving the water. Mostly the small birds, this was the first cowbird to bathe.
Temperatures this week to be mid-90s on up with heat index going beyond. Muggy, muggy, muggy!
