Morning Birds, J n J

Not my best shot, I couldn't get them to line up prettily and all stay in the same line of fire. You can hardly make out any of the ladies either. What can I say?

Jack has been on his medication a week now. He seems better. But. The other night he came in after going outside and he was limping badly, though he was better again in the morning. I'm still having the battle of the pills and I think I have to resign myself to it for the duration. DH bought soft dog food to 'hide' the pills (which doesn't help any) and Jill is SO jealous. She has begun to come around at pill time and those sad eyes of hers watch me the whole time. Well, you know I have to give some to her too. I have no will power when it comes to her sad eyes. It's a bit crazy, but Jack comes to take his torture with a willing wag of his tail. I can only shake my head.

Have a great weekend, y'all!

  1. Those Cardinals are so pretty and I know the girls are there. Poor Jill thinks she is missing out on something but you are a good mama to try to make her feel included.

  2. Beautiful birds! Sorry to hear Jack isn't back to himself. The things we do for our fur babies. I have that jealousy issue with my cats.

  4. What a lot of cardinals you have around -- You must have the perfects "eats" for them, and they told all their friends! I hope Jack keeps feeling better -- And I know what you mean about those eyes, I can't say no to them either!

    1. I think it's the cold weather - it's the same old seed that they turned their beaks from when nature was plentiful.

  5. Have you tried peanut butter with Jack? I just ask, because we used that with one of our dogs that wouldn't take pills... ? Hope he gets better. Lovely birds!

    1. Yeah, ya take two slices of bread and spread peanut butter on both slices and put the pill in it, then ya put peanut butter on the outside of the sandwich, it's a hoot to watch them eat it. :-)

    2. I figured out wrapping the capsule in sandwich cheese. Jack went gaga. Now, Jill actually chews her food so it wouldn't work with her.
