Update on Jack

(Recent photo) Jack is busy sleeping off the pain medicine the vet prescribed. Jack likes his sleep in the first place and I am not going to mess with him for an update.

He seems to feel less pain on the drug and when awake, he's getting around better, but still limping dramatically. He cannot seem to jump well at all although he still tries. He is on pain meds and antibiotic for two weeks. This is the first time, I have been given antibiotic capsules for him and they are difficult to administer to him with his small (clinched) mouth.

I seriously hope that this will fix him and this is not one of those "Let's try ___" if you know what I mean. I wonder when medicine will advance to the point where they do not play games with your feelings and your wallet.

  2. i have two old girls here that both limp. louise takes pain pills but i have to force them down her throat and she fights me on them, foaming at the mouth, 'biting' my fingers. no fun for either of us, but without them, she can't move.

    1. Oh, the poor babies. Why can't they develop medicine that tastes good? It's not like they can get into it and OD.

  4. I hope he feels better soon. I think the meds for animals are just about as outrageously priced as the meds for humans...worse sometimes.

    1. Expensive yes - it seems to get pricier all the time.

    1. Thanks, Dora, he usually is a good boy - doesn't care for vets though. Is walking a little better today.
