I just took these pictures and it's still trying to snow. It's nothing big time, just kind of pretty and peaceful. Except for the breeze that kicks up and blows the white stuff from the roof. It is down right cold out there!
I was looking through my old files last night. We haven't had anywhere near the snow or cold that we had some of the years since we moved into this house over 10 years ago. So griping is not in line.
The grackles have flown in for breakfast. They cleaned out the feeder and left. This time of year, I would guess everybody is hungry. I don't think I would want to be a bird in February.
A little reminder for those in my area:
It's time to prune those bushes and trees that need it. The sap is down and it looks like it will stay down for the next while. We are expecting more snow and cold temperatures for the next 10 days, at the very least. Stay warm folks!
Almost don't need to listen to the weather forecast here if I just keep an eye on bird feeders. When snow is coming...they clean out the feeders in a couple of hours.
ReplyDeleteGood sign! I never noticed that before.
DeleteBeautiful bird photos... We are getting dustings here... hopefully no more big ones. I'm ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteIt was white this morning and this afternoon it kind of melted although it was still kind of snowing. It's getting white once again and the snow continues to fall.
Deletethanks for the reminder. i need to trim my crape myrtles back. noticed spring beauties blooming in the lawn today. some years they're already out in january.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd love some crape myrtles, no idea where could put them, but they are so lovely!
DeleteHere in the Pacific Northwest it's been warn and sunny. Something that's rare for this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI've heard you have some nice mild temps though.
DeletePoor birdies in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI know! Those skinny legs and feet on the ice and snow, brr!
DeletePretty birds. The other day I say I believe was chickdee run up and down our big popular.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
I hadn't seen any chickadees until last week. I was wondering where they were hiding! They are so sweet, aren't they?
DeleteYep, eating like a bird, if you've ever watched them, isn't a light meal, as the old saying would suggest!
ReplyDeleteCat
Right up there with 'eating like a pig' right? LOL!
DeleteWe've had coldish weather here in Florida...even a little patch of ice on my windshield a week or so ago...and that's quite enough for me. When the heat and humidity arrive...in less than a month I'll be BEGGING for this cold spell to return :) So happy your son can help you with your computer...the last techie thing I want is a computer which has a touch screen...after that the super smart people can do whatever they want. I have been hearing rumors about the demise of cable...when that happens I don't know how I'll connect to the internet. Probably have to go to VIOS like my son did...if I can afford it :)
ReplyDeleteOur weather going up and down. (Not so much up)
DeleteNot sure what VIOS is - I get mine from expensive wifi through Verizon. They (web sites) have sped up so much and added so many ads etc that eat up my allowance. Grr.
