It's the first of June already, May fairly flew. Summer appears to be in full swing and the weather patterns have settled in.
On Friday, last week, my closest granddaughter graduated from high school. She started working yesterday. She'll be going into nursing and I couldn't be more proud of her. How many of today's kids know enough to get the show on the road right away?
My beautiful granddaughter, Alexa |
I stayed up late last night, waiting for the birth of 5th(?) great-grandchild. Haven't heard a word, so maybe she opted to have a June birthday.
I started a cleaning project the other day, seems everything in the cupboards with flour or the like, had bugs in it. I couldn't even make myself a pancake or muffin or cookie, and I was out of bread after the first few days of his job. I was getting down to the nitty gritty when I had frozen TV dinners for breakfast. I will put that sort of thing in my refrigerator from now on - I'd rather eat the eggs than the bugs themselves. (The thought makes me gag, yet it's so true!)
I noticed that my blueberry bushes have started sending out shoots. There will be no more mowing around the plants until they have a chance to grow and I can get all the weeds out by hand. Yes, someone will have to help me up after I have been crawling around on my hands and knees in the yard. (They may have to carry me in) Hopefully, someone will be thankful that I did that. Blueberries have got to be the easiest fruit to grow and so good for you.
June 1st is my busiest birthday on my calendar. I think I have sent everyone a birthday wish, but somehow, I feel like I have forgotten someone. If it's you - please refresh my memory.
Congratulations to your beautiful grand-daughter and God bless her for going into a field that we so desparately need and will always need. Smart girl. She'll never be without a job. - I can't believe you're waiting for your 5th GREAT grandchild! Holy smokes. I keep asking my kids when they're going to get busy and give me my 4th grandbaby. No takers so far. My two oldest are done making babies. My 3rd in line is gay but he's planning on getting married and adopting, and my youngest is engaged but no babies for them until a few years after they're married. Boo.
ReplyDeleteThere is no telling your kids to procreate, or telling them to stop, for that matter. LOL! Just look at the first three as practice for the ones to come.
DeleteHey, bugs is protein. Flooding here but the locals think it is normal.
ReplyDeleteI prefer my protein in beef, ha ha.
DeleteGetting lots of rain there again? I hear a storm coming in here today ...
Lots of flooding here, I posted a link to some video of it on my facebook page.
DeleteThat's a whole lot of water, bet they were wondering when it would stop!
DeleteThey seem to taKe it in stride here..
DeleteWhat a lovely post. Alexa is beautiful and must be so accomplished and together. The new baby chose a good birth month, I've been having my birthday in it for the loooooongest time!
ReplyDeleteThey do make this old lady proud.
DeleteJune seems to be a most popular month, doesn't it?
I'll be watching for your birthday. Do you plan an outing?
You granddaughter (and future nurse) is quite beautiful. And a big CONGRATS on the new great granddaughter. She, too is as pretty as can be.
ReplyDeleteHope all the buggy pantry invaders have been booted out of the house. Darn them for giving you extra work.
I believe the bugs came from stuff that I used to cook with and should have been thrown out a year or more ago - DH doesn't know about these little household duties, perhaps even thought that the stuff would be good indefinitely.
DeleteMy granddaughter looks a lot like her mother, a lovely lady. Tamzyn looks so peaceful and angelic. I can't tell who she looks like.
Well, aren't you full of good news today. Beautiful granddaughter. Our daughter is a nurse. A career to be proud of. Little great grand one is precious. Your heart must be full and running over.
ReplyDeleteI am proud of her choice, would have thought she would be an artist, but maybe she will dabble a little in her free time. She's quite talented.
DeleteYep, it's been a good few days. :-)
May sure flew by and your grand daughter is pretty. And a little bundle of joy.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Let's hope June takes a little longer! :-)
DeleteYour granddaughter is quite pretty and so is the baby.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your grandaugter and good luck in her nursing career. And congrats to the newest member of the family. What a little cutie.
ReplyDeleteI take a plastic milk carton to sit on when working in the yard.
ReplyDeleteI believe I would still need help. :-)
DeleteCongrats on the new nurse in the family, and the new baby. I don't have blueberries myself, but I sure can understand the getting up and down when weeding part. I have (half) joked that we could always just get a Hoyer lift, and then it would be easier to get me upright again. I am hoping to get a little chair with wheels that I saw in an ag magazine, with the raised beds, I might even have a fighting chance to be able to get up if someone drives in, before they leave!!!
ReplyDeleteCat
I've seen those little garden seats w/wheels. I wouldn't mind having one of them, but I think I would still need help getting totally upright after weeding.:-)
