For the Girls!

First off, I know I got took, but there ought to be some kind of law ... I ordered the Bamboo Bras they advertise on TV. I figured 19.99 was a cheap price for a style that I might actually be able to wear and keep the girls out of my waistband ha ha. Supposedly you buy the nude one and pay shipping and handling but in this special offer they give you the white and black ones free, just include shipping and handling. Oh, yes, and they charge a 'web' fee, even though you can't buy them in stores and their web page is the source.
Yes, you can order 1, but the s/h is 7.99 +$1
They're making a killing on their shipping, wouldn't you say? Of course before I hit 'enter' I could see what they were doing, but I think their wording and page was a little deceiving for anyone who didn't see it. They are coming in the mail, and weigh a shade more than half a pound altogether. No tracking on them yet ...Still sitting in Vegas.
After I ordered them, they kept bringing up more pages for more 'deals' to add to my original order.

I'm not even sure these things will fit. I would almost bet you can't get money back on their 'free' ones, if they don't fit. The return s/h would be on my dime - this is a one way sale and they know it. I'm hoping they do fit and are comfortable enough to wear under my summer sheers. I don't care how mud ugly they are. We shall see.

  1. I would say definitely no money back on the free ones; you can't get back money that you didn't pay after all. but you should be able to get money back on the one you did pay for, but you won't get back the shipping costs. I hope they fit and are comfortable, then you've got three for the price of one.

  2. hopefully you will like them. Good luck in money back if you don't, you'll be jumping through hoops aand they will still have a loop hole. All these places charge 7.99 S+H...Id guess the real S+H cost is about a buck 40 tops.

    1. I hope I like them, I hope they fit! I will send to trash if they don't, not going to waste any more money. :/

  3. Goodness, I would need a lawyer to interpret that offer. Hope you are satisfied with the bras when they arrive.

  4. Their ads on TV look so enticing that I've been tempted. I hope they are cool in the summer for you. I'll be looking forward to your review. All those places that give you a second product for the price of shipping way over charge on shipping. That's how they make up their money. Do they even give you a check box to order just one?

    1. Yes, if you uncheck the box, it gives you a choice of the colors and sizes. I have been looking at that ad and wondering. Now I will find out. :-)

    1. That's just business, it's all there in smaller (but visible, nonetheless) letters. So many people just commit before the realize the bottom line. :/

  6. We have had this same situation with another product, "free, just pay separate shipping and handling" to make a long story short they wouldn't refund the shipping and handling which was near as much as the product, and the return shipping was on us, the cost made it cheaper to just keep it.

    1. Yep, they know it and are counting on that. :/

  7. Things like this is the reason I do not buy from the TV. They make things sound so good and like you said, they offer free ones but you pay the shipping and handling, and I don't think it should run that much to ship a bra.

    1. I generally look at the shipping etc when I decide. That's why it's a good idea to look it up on the web and not rush to the telephone with your debit card. Sometimes that extra S/H is worth it, depends on the bargain. :-)

  8. Don't think I've ever heard of this type bra but then I don't watch much TV. Hope you like them and they fit well.

    1. Curious? Google it - Bamboo Bras as seen on TV. Doesn't look as it it would bind and has wide straps like a tank top. Looks comfortable, whether it is or not remains to be seen. ;-)

  9. I googled the bra as you suggested to Paula and it looks like the one my daughter bought some time ago. I'll have to ask her how it performs.
I should say the models are all slim girls and don't appear to have heavy breasts. Most of us who are older and a bit overweight, do have heavy breasts and even though they look good when first put on, any bra will still sag down under the weight of the breast as the day goes on. Gravity is a bitch. I find that even with underwire, I sag and am occasionally adjusting. Even worse is the roll of fat around the ribs which causes any bra band to roll upwards when I sit down. What is really needed is some kind of built-into-underside-of-the-cup-support to hold the girls up and not allow them to sag until getting undressed at night. I don't think going back to whale bone corsets is a good idea, but surely there is some modern engineering of lightweight support that would do the job. Of course such an item would cost a lot more than $19.99, but I recently (okay 18 months ago) paid $65 each for two bras that look fabulous for about five minutes, unless I stand still with my shoulders well back like a soldier on parade.

    1. Oh, I don't mind having a mature figure. I just wanted to keep the girls in the same neighborhood and cover them up so nipples don't give away their location ...

  11. I have never seen the commercial you speak of, but BAMBOO does not make
Me think they would be at all comfortable. To me they would seem to be torture devices for you, and perhaps an impenetrable fortress that would aggravate your husband! :)

But seriously, why are they called bamboo bras?!?

    1. LOL! Yes, torture devices. I'm generally not a fan.

Not sure how they do it, but they make a stretchy fabric out of bamboo. It's a bit of a mystery to me.

    2. possibly from the inner fibres of the bamboo cane, they are soft and cotton-like I believe, so can be easily spun into thread and woven.

  12. I've seen that ad and thought the bamboo idea intriguing. Will be interested in what you experience wearing them when you finally receive them. I think all those many ads offering so-called "free" additional items and all you have to pay is S&H for the freebie items are just a gimmicky way of selling more of the items. Seems to me the S&H is inflated but I haven't checked them out specifically. Maybe some are a bargain. I'm skeptical enough I would doubt ever getting a refund if I later decided I wanted one on most of those kind of offers. Hope it works well for you so will look forward to hearing about your reaction to the product and experience if you ask for a refund. Consider it an experience we wouldn't know about otherwise.

    1. Yep, I will give a review of sorts. I'm lousy at reviews, but you'll know what I think of them. I'll be able to tell if they are in it for the product or making money on shipping. Some people do try to make a good product. I'm not planning on asking for a refund though. Simply not worth the hassle. I'm hopeful they will be what they advertise.

  14. Just got a pair of bra from Penny but the bamboo ones does sound cool. But since I'm such big busted I have horrible time finding ones that fit.
Hopeful if I loose a few pounds my breast will reduce in size.

    1. I really don't see a lot of support in this style. I'm just hoping for gentle support and no cutting off my circulation. The bras are being shipped the cheapest way and are still sitting in California. I'll give a report after I check them out. ,-)
