Yesterday, I washed my heavy double blanket. It sounds simple, right? I put it in the dryer, it would tumble a minute or two until it was a big ball then I would have to take it out, pull the wad apart, and start it again. I did this over and over again, until I was wore out. I ended up hanging it over my recliner. I made my bed and put the blanket on it still damp. I crawled into bed early and pretty much passed out. Slept like the dead until about 7:30!
Tomatoes growing on steps and porch floor. I need to pick them and pull up the vines, just too tired today. Seems they are drawing ants and they are getting into Tacky's food.
The cards are really white. Not the best in the world, but I think the animals are cute. Used colored pencils for them and gel pens for the rest of it. I kept thinking there needed to be more colors. (I have a box of 100 gel pens)
Have a good night, day, whatever!
Quite a chore for you to wash your blanket, I would be wore out too. The cards are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI know, it's a killer when wet. Dryer on top of washer makes it harder.
DeleteIt's nice and cuddly again. :-)
Maybe you could hang the blanket outside in the sun old school for a while and then finish it off in the dryer. Either way, lotta work.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't handle trying to get on a line I don't have. The blanket is heavy plush with a sherpa like lining. I would have draped it over the deck rail, but the rail was almost as wet as it was. :/ Yep, lotta work. Felt like wrestling with a large dead animal, haha!
DeleteIt sounds like you really needed that sleep - and it also didn't sound at all like a lazy day to me.
ReplyDeleteLove your art work.
:-)
DeleteYears ago I used to take big blankets to the laundrette- do you have one nearby? ~ Cathy
ReplyDeleteNo, plus I don't drive ... :-)
DeleteThose cards are really cute and practical and you get the fun of coloring something useful.
ReplyDeleteSome unfortunates will receive in Christmas mail. Ha ha
DeleteLove the snowflakes.
ReplyDelete;-)
DeleteSuch pretty coloring projects. I really like those. You did great on them. I washed my bedspread yesterday also. I took it off the bed and put it right back on when dry. I have a new one to put out but I want to paint the room first. Have a good relaxing day.
ReplyDeleteI have been taking it easy again today. Big bed covers are a real chore. Have a nice evening! :-)
DeleteYup. Big blankets and dryers not a good combination
ReplyDeleteMaybe hubby could get some clothes line up under your patio. Can’t remember if it’s got a roof
I do that out the back. And things dry very nicely out there. Even when it’s raining
No roof over the deck. No way to hang lines and no desire to do so, would ruin the look out there. Next time the blanket needs to be washed, I'll see about sending it out. ;-)
DeleteI'm taking my feather bed to the cleaners, can't do it myself. I got coloring books for Christmas and spent a lot of time on it in the winter. Will start up again when things slow down a bit here. So much fun. I like yours.
ReplyDeleteI'd be taking the feather bed to the cleaners too, if I could carry it. ;-)
DeleteColoring is fun! :-)
Wrestling with large bed clothes like this can really be a challenge, strange how they always roll into a ball rather than tumble in the dryer.
ReplyDeleteYour cards came out really good, the receivers of these at Christmas will be happy.
It's too bad that the dryers don't tumble in one direction for so many minutes, and then so many minutes in the other, etc to stop that wadding up. :D
DeleteThe cards take quite a while ... good thing it's not my job, haha.
I like occasional lazy days. Too bad you have to shake out your bed cover so many times. I sometimes have to do mine once, or sometimes if dampness in center is light, cover will dry if low humidity so can spread cover out on bed.
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I only had to do it once. Low humidity, not in Tennessee, Hahaha. :D
DeleteI like lazy days. I've been having a lot of them lately. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes, it's just something you gotta do! ;-)
DeleteYour blanket ball might have been due to the full ("fool") moon. Our towels wrapped themselves in knots whilst in the dryer yesterday just to be mean. They thumped and bumped and wasted all that electricity and refused to get dry.
ReplyDeleteOur towels get cantankerous too! ;-)
DeleteI never got any tomatoes from my neighbors this year. Sad, sad, sad... Your art cards are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNothing like fresh, garden grown (er, porch) tomatoes! ;-)
DeleteThanks, Annie!
Your cards are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ, but I will admit they aren't too bad. I have yet to make one without a mistake. :-)

ReplyDeleteLove the cards and also like that you washed the blanket yourself. I would have sent it to the dry-cleaners where they have better facilities for this sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteI should have. Think I will next time. :-)
Deletei know washing blanket is not easy though but the way you write about it it made me smile .
ReplyDeleteglad after work was done you took good rest.
your tomatoes looks great ,they are progressing slowly .
Your art is beautiful and choice of colors is amazing !
It's time to be done with the tomatoes, we have been eating off that vine since the beginning of July.
DeleteI wish I could mix the color in the gel pens for more variety. :/
That sounds like very hard work!
ReplyDeleteThe cards look lovely especially the reindeer.
It was, not going to do that again. Thanks! :-)
DeleteI dislike the days that I have to wash comforters. It takes all day to dry them, if I can get through a wash cycle without my washing machine shaking across the floor! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteDoes shake a bit, doesn't it? HaHa!
DeleteHave a good day, yourself!
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, I keep a double blanket on the sofa so that I can snuggle up with it when I get cold, which is often. It’s very comforting but the very devil to wash and drying it is always a pain. I now wash it first thing in the morning, put it in the dryer right away. It always comes out damp, so I hang it over the banister for the rest of the day – it usually does the trick.
Your cards are very pretty.
I'm almost glad to hear that I'm not the only one to have trouble drying my double blanket!
Delete;-)
I love your cards!!! They are wonderful. !
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteI love your cards. I haven't made cards in years but I think I might start with this new Cricut I've got. In between everything else going on in my life.. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes, girls just have to have some fun. Enjoy your Cricut! :-)
