WFW non-scary attempt

This months Words for Wednesday prompts have been provided by Cindi Summerlin over at Letting the Words Escape. Drop by and let Cindi know when you join in so everyone else can enjoy your take on the words.
Keeping with October's theme for Cindi's last week, the words she has chosen for prompts are from actor Vincent Price's movie titles.

Pendulum, Haunted, Seven, Wax, Raven, Scream
and/or
Tales, Fly, Tingler, Invisible, Usher, Diary

I stole the above from Jimmy

Last week, Nathan bought us tickets to the Hillsboro Haunted Mansion Halloween gala. I found the tickets in his jacket pocket and let out such a scream that my mother came running, slipped and fell into the grandfather clock and broke the pendulum. I helped her up, asking him to usher her into the other room, as she also sprained her ankle.

After a week of Mom's list of "daughter do this" like wax the kitchen floor and wipe down invisible dust, Mom was finally able to her own thing and I could do mine. I began hemming my raven colored dress, wondering if this ball was really worth it. My diary was filled with angst about the yards and yards of the skirt, even though my fingers could fly it seemed to take forever. Mother kept telling me tingler tales, as I tried to beat the clock. Nathan would be waiting for me at seven and I was tingling enough!

  3. Wow, you were able to get all the words into two short paragraphs! I'm so impressed with that and with anyone who tries these word challenges. I don't have the guts to try them. Well done!

  8. I never liked Halloween ... North America seems to be obsessed with it as peeps are gearing up for yet another "costume party 2017" ... I do not understand, why blood and gore and scare should be fun at any time and especially in these trump times ... Anyway ... Love, cat.

  10. This is exciting! A Halloween ball in a haunted house. I'd like to be a fly on the wall there.
I also wish dust really was invisible, I can see mine from across the room.
