Blue moon and the haze of clouds, Very windy w/high humidity. I came in and my shirt was actually damp. Not good for me to be outside. The air was too thick to get a good shot.  Sorry :(

I got nothin'

Been busy on WIP, sorry. Poison oak still rages. Jack is acting better, vet said last year he had heart murmur maybe causing problems?

Isaac screwed with my view of blue moon. Ack! Next 4 days probable rain. Lovely... just lovely.

OAK!

DH had his second trip to the doctor in as many days. Somewhere along the line he picked up poison oak. (Remember, we both have bad eyes) He thought he had been bitten by ants when he worked in the yard on Sunday. He felt like he had things crawling around on himself and was brushing himself all over. I looked carefully, I couldn't see anything. Maybe he had flea bites? Perhaps he had gotten into a big nest of chiggers…

Yesterday he looked like he had a bad case of mini-hives. I looked carefully and asked if he had been in poison oak. He said no, he had just been out in the yard. His eye was starting to swell shut, his nose was increasing in size and everywhere he had big red blotches.

He went to the doctor; they gave him a shot and anti-itch pills. He was in agony it was making him really miserable. I don't think he slept much last night.

This morning his eye was a little better but other spots were flaring up. He scratched some of them (!) and the blisters on his hands were dripping all over. He was to the point that he couldn't bend his fingers; I needed to drive him to the doctor. She gave him Rx for anti-biotic for the beginning of impetigo and a prednisone pack. At the drugstore he bought some more anti-itch lotion for $10 (for crying out loud – kick 'em when they're down, I tell ya!).

I read up online for home remedies and the only one I would trust would be the Fels-Naptha that I haven't been able to find.

I hope this new stuff does the trick, he is plum miserable.

Jack's Feeling a Little Puny

The last couple weeks, Jack hasn't been feeling really well. He's been spending a lot of time in here with me instead of Daddy.

Makes me want to hug 'im and squeeze 'im and call him George.

 

Uninvited Visitor

Nope, it was there!

DH told me about this giant bug that he had smashed. "Must have been six inches long!" Of course, I chided him (sorry dear) for killing it.

Last night when I was getting ready for bed, there he (the mantis) was in the hallway. DH didn't want anything to do with it, said I should put him out the window. The mantis wanted no part of me, he eyeballed me and took off into my womb. I thought at first one of his legs was missing.  (DH's ears burned from my thoughts, I'm sure) There was no way I could catch him. He lit onto my lamp, after I shocked him with the flash. Sorry for the bad picture.

I shut off the light and closed the door leaving the poor thing to rest. In truth the mantis' body from head to bum was only four inches long. We managed to get the poor fellow out the window this morning. Ah!

Yard Buggy

DH is home already, he brought home this little gem. Now I have "wheels" of my own, LOL! He'll leave again on Wednesday after our B-day tomorrow. This is more my speed anymore. :-)

Daddy's Vacation

DH has gone on vacation and now I am on vacation too! He did do up the dishes before he left and filled all the feeders before he left. The fridge is stocked, and I have a new supply of books. So I'm all set!

BTW, his last trip to Stone Mountain - he was only gone a day and a half. Bless his heart - he missed me! I have let my worries go about him getting hurt, it is just not in my hands.

DH took a day trip last month to see this. Is three well known Confederates. Think it cost $26 for entry and was very hot, glad he took pictures!

Getting in a walk before the rain comes in. Jack went with Daddy yesterday to get a shampoo and a pedicure. He even got to go for a walk in the park. He came home very happy and tired. Daddy is not really enthusiastic about taking Jill for her turn... Neither is she.
