Birds n Bed

Stalker?

Eavesdropper

"Herman, we should have gone south with the wives."
The dusting of snow we got is melting in the sun. It didn't really amount to much. Nashville got eight inches, the storm simply didn't come down this far. We were on the edge. (Thank goodness!)
Antique Circa?
I'm still in the middle of rearranging my womb. Luckily, the trundle from the day bed fits underneath for odds and ends - when I get a bed skirt, no one will know the junk I am hiding. I think the TV will go on the wall above my desk to keep from getting a crick in my neck - it has a DVD player in it for my movies. Now to bring in my chair and jewelry box and throw a bunch of extra away. It's going to be quite the eclectic womb!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. That is a gorgeous bed. I know you are really going to enjoy it. It looks high, are you going to need a step stool? In Texas I fed the birds but not in Oregon. Too hard to keep the seed dry. Wet birdseed is a real mess.

    1. I definitely need a step stool or something, am now using a large tote to get in bed - the top of the mattress is even with my waistline. Wish I had a video of the first time I tried to get up there. LOL!

  2. A stool was my first thought - both for you and then for the dogs lol
Did you get given a history of the bed at all? It would be great to know who made/ fashioned/carved the bedhead. Now just to find a side table to finish it off

    1. Yep, need a stool or stairs, something nice looking.
No history on the bed, the lady has had it a while, but no information. I know it's older than the 30's because of it's style. I saw an old B/W movie with an old lady dying in her bed that was similar. No real idea though. Is not a rope bed.

  3. That should be 'bedside' table - you know, for books, specs, and all those other necessaries :)

    2. Beautiful bed. I know you will enjoy it. My deceased husband's grandmother left us a very old white iron bed. I enjoy it so much.
