How I died once ...

The thing about bears ...

John of Going Gently gave us the rundown on 'The Revenant' and got me thinking, er, remembering.

I, at 8 summers old, am running through the woods, trying to dodge the trees. The autumn leaves crunch beneath my moccasins. I can see my soft leather leggings as I check for a clear path to run. I breathe hard. My heart pounds. I look behind me. I can hear the bear crashing through the brush. Terrified, I try to run faster, yet know there is no escape. One last look. His jaws are open in a roar as he takes his prey.

No, I am not into bears ...

  1. I saw the last hour of The Revenant. Gary went to that movie and I went to another. Mine was done first so they allowed me to go in with him. Very intense movie! I did not see the bear attack though. Hmmm.. so this is a dream of yours? Very interesting...

    1. Dream/Nightmare off and on since I was very little. I am a small boy, it is unnerving and far too real.

  2. What an awful nightmare & to have it recurring must be awful. I wonder if these awful movies do anybody any good.

    1. It affected me much worse when I was little.
Those movies probably give everyone a good cardio exercise.

    1. Some people say that if you dream certain things that they mean thus and so. Not sure what a bear could mean.

  5. I didn't realise this was a recurring dream of yours Sharon - I thought you'd been visualising and doing a bit of scribbling. Was going to say why did you put your pencil away when these you can put this down :)

    1. No Cathy, I have had this dream since I was maybe 3 or 4 years old, just after we moved into the house in North Saint Paul. Before that, I dreamed of drums and woke screaming about them coming (other Indians). I don't know what to make of it or why I would dream that I was a little boy ... My folks said I was making it up - that would be fine, but where on earth would I get the idea at that age?
