Green Eyes

Green Eyes
As you know, I read - a lot! I'm partial to historical romance, where men were men and women were special. I have noticed that many characters, be they hero or heroine, are blessed with [add desirable description here] green eyes. I understand that that genre is the fantasy of what most women desire, but I wonder how many women really desire green eyes or if the writers are picking an uncommon color because they have this fantasy themselves or they are making them memorable? I remember them, oh yeah. I have known three people that were memorable because they had green eyes. One set of eyes belonged to my son who was transitioning from foggy blue to brown as a baby. For a period of time, his eyes were a yucky army green. The other was a boy [a very nasty one - but that's another story] in my freshman class in high school. His eyes didn't sparkle, gleam, or shimmer. The third belonged to a guy I met in a bar - I will never forget his eyes, they looked like a frog in a Bloody Mary. Definitely not charming. If I met any other green-eyed people, obviously, I was not impressed enough to remember.

How many green-eyed people have you known? Were they memorable? Sexy? Did they make you swoon and want to drop your pants or chase after them? Could be that my own personal fantasy lover is not green-eyed and that's why I'm not drawn to them. I don't know. How about you?

  1. A female with green eyes and (some shade of) red hair was what I always wanted if after I died I was sent back to earth to start over. Now I'm not really interested because I'd rather my soul just be left alone to stay with Don...FOREVER. (Does that sound teenagerish or what? *smile*) When I was a teenager I was torn between blond haired/blue eyed boys and brown/black haired/brown eyed boys. However, Don had sort of hazel eyes and graying hair, which of course I LOVED!! The EX had blond hair/blue eyes, I'm definitely not into blond/blue anymore. My personal fantasy lover is bald, has sort of hazel eyes, bushy eyebrows, kissable lips, is medium height, has a sexy butt and guess what looks like Don. :) BTW how ya doin'? Theanne

    1. Surprised to hear that someone else thinks about a do-over. I just want to be taller, next time. LOL! Yeah, 'hazel' eyes are sort of - I have hazel eyes and I still couldn't tell you what exact color they are. (Kind of like giving one color for a cobblestone street - you just can't.)

Hi, anyway! Nice to see you again!

  3. You do read about a lot of red headed green eyed women in fiction. I don't think I've ever known anyone with green eyes.

    1. I wonder if we are in the wrong part of the world, and yet, aren't we in the great melting pot? I haven't met Miss Redhead/Green-eyes either.

  4. I always said. If I could pick my colouring it would be red hair and green eyes. But really. It's what's inside that counts. And no matter how beautiful a person is on the outside. Ugly goes right through to the middle

    1. That could easily be done with some hair dye and green contact lens, it's doable! Not every redhead is gorgeous, although the look might really look good on you!
