Bucket List

When I learned to drive, I had a Nova. When I got a replacement set of wheels - I got a Nova. Through the years, I have often thought I would like another one, either like my first "Butterscotch Baby," or my powder blue "Baby" with her lion face covering the hood. (One of my boys did an excellent painting in black that literally covered the hood.) I kind of put one on my "Bucket List."

Life does go on. I hunted for a picture of either of them yesterday and couldn't find anything. I've had quite a few cars since, but the only one I ever had that compared with that "Nova" handling, was my Cougar. I no longer drive and it was sad to think I would never have another Nova.

Last night, I noticed the logo on my rolling walker. Cosmic forces were in play and the joke is on me!

Life's funny, isn't it?

    1. DH and I had a good laugh over it. It had to be a coincidence, didn't it?

  4. I've never seen a lavender walker! That's really classy and the "Nova" on the bag is s hoot considering the coincident with your car history.

    1. The other color choices were red and a dark blue. I think the purple is pretty classy, myself. :-)

  5. Nova was good car. A few of my family had them. One of my friend I believe had one and her was three on the tree.
My oldest first car was a Nova.

  7. My very first car was a "butterscotch" colored Nova as well. It was a 1970 or 1971. I don't quite remember for sure. I have pictures of one but don't know how to attach images to your comment section.

That is funny about your new wheels having Nova on it.

    1. I don't think a person can attach pictures to the comments, too bad, I'd love to see yours. I think my Butterscotch Baby was a '70 model, it had half of the roof covered in cream colored vinyl. Charp! The motor went the way of all things ... :'(

  11. It' seems to be a bluish colour to my eyes but then they are a bit on the weaker side now.
Nova eh? Who made that car?

    1. The color you see may be your monitor. The walker is a bright orchid purple, almost neon.

  13. I looked it up too and there it was, a powderblue one, sharp as ever. And that's a cool walker, love the color and the nova name.

    1. I'd rather not need one, but as long as I do ... Why not go flashy? :-)

    2. The Nova didn't come out until 1962, you learned how to drive that late? I learned to drive an old 50's pickup but don't recall the model.

    3. Let's just say that my husband, at the time, didn't give me many freedoms. I took my driver's test the same day our oldest son did.

    4. I tried to teach my first wife how to drive but she just couldn't master a clutch, she didn't learn how to drive until our daughter learned to drive but by then most cars had automatics.

  14. I love driving a rig with a clutch but in truth I prefer an automatic because it is cheaper to fix them if they take a crap. Well, it was like that in the past but things are changing, it's getting hard and expensive to fix any drive train these days. My pickup is 20 years old so if the tranny takes a shit I can still rebuild it but I'm not sure I could fix a five year old tranny.

    1. My truck had three on the tree and I had no problems - until I came to the hills here in TN. DH had a Mustang with four on the floor and I drove it for about a year then he had some shade tree mechanic change out the clutch. Ruined it for me and I hated to drive it after that.
