Simon has a problem with his right ear. It almost looks as if he had frozen the tip last winter. It's damaged, anyway. He's still pretty feral and hisses a lot, but we have been able to pet him, Tacky has accepted him and Jill is slowly learning to leave him alone.
He's still pretty thin, but he's only been here 2-3 weeks. His fur is pretty rough looking. I kind of wonder if he doesn't belong to someone in the neighborhood. A couple of days ago, he thought about coming into the house. Um, NOT!
A few nights ago, at 3 a.m. I woke to a cat scowling, the toy barn rattling, and a dog yipe. I think it was one of the neighbor dogs, trying to get at the cat food and Simon objected. We keep Tacky's food in the little barn or Jill will eat it.
Y'all have a lovely weekend, I'll see you next month! :-)
A cat with a mystery background. He is lucky he found a deck full of friendly people and pets.

DeleteAnd that's how you get adopted lol he is a beautiful boy xx
ReplyDeleteI'm more than willing!
DeleteHe's a pretty little cat, I hope there isn't someone somewhere missing him.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too, I'd hate for me to be the cause of someone else' anxiety.
DeleteHe is a lovely looking cat. Hope he settles in well. I never knew where my cat came from or how he was treated. He's okay now, still wary of strangers but soon comes round.
ReplyDeleteI think once he fills out, he'll look even better. ;-)
DeleteI luvs Simon already. Looking forward to reading more about Simon.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteHe found the right place to take up. Simon is a good looking cat the ear tip just gives him character ;)
ReplyDeleteYall have a wonderful weekend.
That it does, Jimmy! :-)
DeleteHe's a pretty boy. I'm partial to black cats.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeletePoor little thing, looks like he's had to fend for himself a good bit, is it a kitten/

He's actually the same size as Tacky or larger in stature. He's thin and his fur looks dull. I don't think he has been eating very well for a long time. I'm going to try to get him pretty again. :-)
DeleteFor all his problems he's still a cutie.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteBeautiful photos. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
:-)
DeleteInteresting looking cat. He may venture inside one day as we had one do years ago. I heard a loud yowl, looked in the living room and she was up on a chair giving birth to kittens!
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice surprise! LOL! I am miserably allergic, or I would have him and Tacky in the house. At least part time ...
DeleteAwe Simon is pretty as can be.. I used to have a black cat like that when I was a little girl.
ReplyDeleteHe has a sweeter face I think, than Tacky. :-)
DeleteSimon is a beautiful boy. But then I am a complete sucker for black cats.
ReplyDelete;-) I know! Yours are gorgeous!
DeleteOnly one now. We lost Jewel. And my heart still aches.
DeleteI'm so terribly sorry, I didn't know. My condolences.
DeleteCan Feral cats be tamed? I heard no but then I have where others have had luck with that. Lily's mom was feral and the night she was trapped in a cage to be taken to be fixed she gave birth in the cage. I understand that she was adopted out and I am in the process of finding out how that worked. I hope it did. Loving you feral addition to your deck.
ReplyDeleteI'm no expert, but I can't see why not - to a point. We've had a lot of cats show up here, they hang around for a few days for the food. I've had them look at me and come close, but they wouldn't let me touch. I would think it could be a matter of time and trust and how long they were on their own. I believe Simon belonged to someone. He's just too comfortable being here. :-)
DeleteWhat a lovely looking cat. Have yourself a great month ahead!
ReplyDeleteAw. I'm glad you're taking care of Simon. He's pretty!
ReplyDeleteSimon looks like quite a young cat. Hope he settles in.
