Weekend!

Harvey exited in one big hurry this afternoon and the skies were nearly clear when the sun went down. I spotted this out by the bird feeder. We are saturated for sure. Icky thoughts about what is in store for the folks in Texas and all the other rain soaked areas.

This mushroom is 4.5-5" in diameter.

Have a great weekend!

The people in the flooded areas have got such a long road ahead of them. It's so sad.

    1. Biggest in our yard so far. Last year, we had a 'fairy ring' in our front yard after a rainy week.

  4. I'm happy you were not in the thick of things with Harvey. Geesh... I cannot even begin to imagine what those poor people are going thru. Their lives have been turned upside down and they've lost everything. It's heartbreaking... - I don't know what kind of mushroom that is but it is huge! I imagine they'll be poppin' up all over now. - Send some rain here.. We are frying.

    1. I would not survive that. The mushroom just showed up, no idea what it is.

I would send rain, if only I could. I know how hot and dry it is there.

  5. That's enough mushroom for a risotto :)
So glad Harvey is gone, but sorry for the people who were in the thick of it.

  7. Wondering if that mushroom is edible! I haven't heard the news today, but I'm glad to read that Harvey has gone. Sad for the people who have to try and recover their losses.

  8. Yep, we are soggy too. Rain stopped sometime during the night, my dog was happy! He hates the rain, afraid he will melt. As for the rocks. I do spray them with clear sealant or I paint them with Modge Podge. Gives them a great shine and protects them. Hope you dry out soon.

  11. That is a huge 'shroom. I hope that your weather settles down quickly. With no repeat performances from Horrid Harvey and his relatives.

    1. It was a beautiful day here, today. A bit on the breezy side, but it felt pretty good out on the deck.

  12. You could just about hide under that mushroom - Are you sure someone, something, wasn't? :-)

Glad the storm is out of here - We're getting some much needed rain, but I'm not complaining.

Yep, we needed the rain too. The cloudy, humid gloom - not so much.

  15. Very impressive mushroom! I am not an expert on fungi, however I would say that there is a 95% chance that it is poisonous. Please do not try to eat it. It looks like my blog issues are now over

    1. Yes I did. DH has begun buying things for the deck. He bought a couple of wicker chairs and we spent some time out on the deck, tossing ideas back and forth. He also bought a bench that has to be put together, and some pots. No luck yet agreeing on a dining set ... ;-)

    2. Sounds like fun. You're really going to enjoy that deck.

  19. Cool mushroom!!! We get them growing all thru the summer. I have no idea what kind they are. Ours grow in our woods and in the yard.
I feel terrible for those poor people in Texas~

So, so sad for the folks in Texas and their pets.
