Harvey exited in one big hurry this afternoon and the skies were nearly clear when the sun went down. I spotted this out by the bird feeder. We are saturated for sure. Icky thoughts about what is in store for the folks in Texas and all the other rain soaked areas.
This mushroom is 4.5-5" in diameter.
Have a great weekend!
Wow, that is a huge mushroom!
ReplyDeleteThe people in the flooded areas have got such a long road ahead of them. It's so sad.
I'd never survive the clean-up.
DeleteWow that is a big boy. I agree the folks in the flooded areas are just beginning the recovery process that won't be over with soon.
ReplyDeleteBiggest in our yard so far. Last year, we had a 'fairy ring' in our front yard after a rainy week.
DeleteWhat a huge mushroom!
ReplyDeleteI feel for those in the flooded areas
We have had lots of rain here too. The paddocks are under water.
Too bad the ones getting rain are getting too much and there are those with fires are praying for relief.
DeleteI'm happy you were not in the thick of things with Harvey. Geesh... I cannot even begin to imagine what those poor people are going thru. Their lives have been turned upside down and they've lost everything. It's heartbreaking... - I don't know what kind of mushroom that is but it is huge! I imagine they'll be poppin' up all over now. - Send some rain here.. We are frying.
ReplyDeleteI would not survive that. The mushroom just showed up, no idea what it is.
DeleteI would send rain, if only I could. I know how hot and dry it is there.
That's enough mushroom for a risotto :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad Harvey is gone, but sorry for the people who were in the thick of it.
Oh, I'd never cook it! :/
DeleteThat mushroom......I wonder if IT is a fungi?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, just my understanding ...
DeleteWondering if that mushroom is edible! I haven't heard the news today, but I'm glad to read that Harvey has gone. Sad for the people who have to try and recover their losses.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it.
DeleteIt is - heartbreaking.
Yep, we are soggy too. Rain stopped sometime during the night, my dog was happy! He hates the rain, afraid he will melt. As for the rocks. I do spray them with clear sealant or I paint them with Modge Podge. Gives them a great shine and protects them. Hope you dry out soon.
ReplyDeleteJill thinks she'll melt too, haha.
DeleteYep, it needs to dry out so he can get to work!

ReplyDeleteLooks alien, is it poisonous?
ReplyDeleteIt does, doesn't it? I have no idea if it's toxic or not.
DeleteThat is a huge 'shroom. I hope that your weather settles down quickly. With no repeat performances from Horrid Harvey and his relatives.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day here, today. A bit on the breezy side, but it felt pretty good out on the deck.
DeleteYou could just about hide under that mushroom - Are you sure someone, something, wasn't? :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad the storm is out of here - We're getting some much needed rain, but I'm not complaining.
I thought about that, pictured a mouse hiding. ;-)
DeleteYep, we needed the rain too. The cloudy, humid gloom - not so much.
I love the mushroom. They seem like miracles when they pop up, don't they?
ReplyDeleteMy heart too goes out to the folks who were flooded.
They are always a surprise. :-)
DeleteThat is one big mushroom!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Normally the ones that pop up are only 2-3" across. :-)
DeleteOMG. Look at that mushroom!
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteVery impressive mushroom! I am not an expert on fungi, however I would say that there is a 95% chance that it is poisonous. Please do not try to eat it. It looks like my blog issues are now over
ReplyDeleteHeavens, no, I would never try!
DeleteNice to see your blog working again. :-)
Where did that come from and is it edible?
ReplyDeleteBriony
x
They just show up when the yard is soaked, very doubtful it's edible. :-/
DeleteHappy Labor Day, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteHappy Labor Day, Sandra. :-)
DeleteWow! That is a whopper!
ReplyDeleteIt's gone now, DH just mowed it, haha.
DeleteI doesn't look like there is any standing water so that is a good thing. Nice 'shroom!
ReplyDeleteVery little standing water here, usually, I live on a hill. :-)
DeleteDid you have a good weekend, Sharon?
ReplyDeleteYes I did. DH has begun buying things for the deck. He bought a couple of wicker chairs and we spent some time out on the deck, tossing ideas back and forth. He also bought a bench that has to be put together, and some pots. No luck yet agreeing on a dining set ... ;-)
DeleteSounds like fun. You're really going to enjoy that deck.
DeleteCool mushroom!!! We get them growing all thru the summer. I have no idea what kind they are. Ours grow in our woods and in the yard.
ReplyDeleteI feel terrible for those poor people in Texas~
We only get them in the yard when the ground is totally saturated.
DeleteSo, so sad for the folks in Texas and their pets.
