How much time do you have to spend reading, commenting, writing, and responding to comments?
I, myself, have no set amount of time that I reserve for blogging, but I like to be able to read and comment to every one, even if it is just a simple :-) I like to read the other comments too. I figure I take 5-15 minutes on each visit, depending. I average about 5 or 6 blogs in an hour. I spend approximately 30 minutes writing my blog and a few minutes responding to each comment. It's nobody's fault that I'm slow, I'm not saying that.
I'm not sure what it is that I am saying, maybe sometimes when someone asks questions that are of a personal nature, I feel like I am in a survey for an up and coming book. Sigh ... I won't ask you how you feel about that ...
My planter garden is not doing so well. The lavender that I put in the other day isn't happy. I thought it would perk up by today. I'll give it more time, no other choice. The tomato seeds are not sprouting at all. I lost the Tiny Tim seeds, but had some cherry tomato seeds from a couple of years ago. Thought for sure at least one would come up. The planter garden is looking more like a wasteland. :-(
DH is now on the full 12 hr night shift. Takes him 2 hours to drive there, find a place to park, and walk to the building. The place is packed ... Then the same to come home. He's beginning to look like death warmed over.
Jack and Jill did their nighttime potty thing and as soon as they came in - they made themselves comfortable. I really ought to just give up making the bed ...
Have a great weekend!
I'm slow with the blogging, reading and commenting. It takes up far too much of my day, because I read carefully so I don't misunderstand anything, then I like to construct my replies so I'm not misunderstood or offensive. On top of that I have frequent interruptions sometimes, from Angel, or the washing machine finishes and I need to get the clothes out, or the phone will ring, or my dinner might be ready to take out of the oven. All the usual day-to-day stuff.
ReplyDeleteI don't get time to get on everyday. I try to at least get on every few days
ReplyDeleteIt's not supposed to be a chore. It's something that I do for relaxation
Try to not let it all get you down xxx
I used to blog every day but now it's once or twice a week. I guess the way we deal with our blogs depends on the home or work situation. Now that I have more time at home I have more time for blogging and writing but blogging friends have dwindled so now less time is spent visiting. As Angela says, blogging shouldn't be a chore. If we don't feel in the mood to say/write something on the blog there is no-one waving a whip to make us do it. Some people don't reply to comments, some do. Not everyone expects a reply but there are no written rules about it.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteI'm throwing out my rules.
ReplyDeleteIf I don't have to go anywhere in the morning, I read blogs with my coffee---two cups. I really like starting my day out that way. I try not to ask too many questions in my blog entries but when I do, they're usually rhetorical and I don't expect answers. Blogging is not a chore for me and I've been doing it since 2001. I prefer reading blogs that are under 1,000 words.
ReplyDeleteJack and Jill look like they might have trouble moving over to make room for their humans. LOL
I like the shorter blogs myself.
DeleteJ n J are bed hogs.
I try to read all the blogs I follow and comment often, but then I have lots of time.

ReplyDelete"How much time do you have to spend reading, commenting, writing, and responding to comments?"
ReplyDeleteI can't really say a certain time, to each part of that question. To me, they are separate questions. Or do you mean, how much time-in-all, we spend blogging?? Ahhhh yes, that must be what you mean to ask.
So too much, would be my answer! :-)
I have the time to do so, and I enjoy blogging, so I spend a lot of time, doing so. :-)
I too, ask questions, but one at a time, now and then. I asked if readers could see ALL of my blogged pictures. And they told me. Wellllll, the readers who were nice enough, to reply did. I have many, many more Lookers, than Commenters. Grumble, grumble, grumble.
Should end this comment now, before I get going on My Pet Peeve.---->People who Read blogs, but do not bother to Comment, in any way. Have you ever considered this issue???????
I read the comments on my blog, but if everyone that read it left a comment, ouch!
DeleteAwe... no bed is complete without a fur friend or two or three. Why make the bed, it will just get messed up again... haha! I am ashamed to say I do not spend nearly as much time on blogs as I use to. I try but usually am interrupted right in the middle of leaving a comment and then.. well, you know. If I were retired and had a lot of free time I'd spend a lot more time on blogs. Every once in a while I get a whole hour and can go crazy. A lot of times I don't answer the questions they ask because by the time I comment I forget. Ugh. Hey, I'm really enjoying Dusty Trunk 2! It's refreshing to be reading author Sharon Qualls again. Enjoy the rest of your weekend...
ReplyDeleteI feel a little neater if the bed is made, but it is one of those things that doesn't last.
DeleteI'm happy to hear you are enjoying your latest book. Too bad it will be the last.
Never gave it much thought I give to blogging. But I can tell you I spend way to much time on the computer.
ReplyDeleteI believe about tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to review some comment and base my next blog post from that. Unless something cool and interesting happens...Not holding my breath.
Coffee is on
:-)
DeleteMy problem is I do so much of the same things every day that it's difficult for me to find new personal topics. I suppose I could rant about politics and celebrities and very often I do but I think people would be so stinkin' bored if I blogged every day about what's happening with me. I make and sell crafts/clothes and I spend a lot of time with the same types of crafts and clothes. I don't think everybody wants to read that every day. I try to visit everyone on my blog list in one day but I'm finding now I may have to split it between two days. I don't know. If you're busy it's definitely a juggling act. - I'm sorry about your garden. So many nurseries and stores have flowers for sale now.. I look at the mountains. As long as there's still a lot of snow up top it could freeze down here so no gardening for me just yet.
ReplyDeleteMy mini-garden is in my bedroom ... No bees, less pollen, etc. Nice size (small) to dabble. Personally, I wouldn't mind looking at your craft projects from time to time, just because I can't doesn't mean I don't enjoy>
DeleteI think your doggies wish you would let them sleep. One is ignoring you and one is saying let me sleep. I split my time on reading blogs. Since we don't go to the ranch much I don't have anything to write about.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, people just like to hear from you and it doesn't have to be a dramatic post. I hope this past week wasn't too hard on you. Hugs!
DeleteThe question to me should have been. "do you make your bed everyday"!!? haha....NO! That bedroom is upstairs and I spend my days downstairs....never see it till bedtime! I know, I am so bad. Blogging, no set time. I just get on and read and comment and blog. Wow...that is some long hours for DH. Wow...really long. Take care.
ReplyDeleteReally tired of his hours ...
DeleteBefore I start talking about blogging time...Poor DH!!! Two hour commutes and working 12 hour shifts. I swear if I win the lottery, I am sending enough for him to never have to drive that again. Sadly, my luck at lotteries has been pretty deficient in the past.
ReplyDeleteAs for blogging. I spend probably 15-20 minutes on blogs that have questions or complex issues in their posts. I, also read all the comments. On easier fluffy topics, it's probably more like 10 minutes. Still...I actively follow around 75 blogs so it takes a while to keep current. Writing blogs takes me around 4-6 hours because of the pictures. Even if I use past clips of Crabby Pants and Cheryl P., I invariably use new backgrounds or props and have to think of dialog to go with whatever I am writing about.
Because I have been really busy for the last couple of months, when I get time I have been trying to READ blogs rather than spend a half day or more creating a post. This week looks like I will have the time though.
That's a lot of blogs to follow!
DeleteI like your Crabby Pants and Cheryl P. 'paper dolls', haha.
I enjoy reading other blogs and commenting. I don't comment on every post I read, but try to comment often enough so that the blogger knows they are appreciated :-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy responding to the comments on my own blog. It gives me a feeling of a real connection to the commenter.
Good Morning, Carole! Sorry I missed you last night.
