New Toy

My son sent me an early birthday present. Yeah, something new, something strange, something very alien to me. This little gem came with no printed instruction. At one time, while playing with it, I saw something that referred me to some app for help. Somehow, I lost that and cannot find it again. I started to try to put my email on it and hit a wall - it was asking me for something I never heard of and can't remember. I know, I should have written it all down. I spent the better part of yesterday trying to figure something, anything out. I did learn how to do the finger print lock/unlock thing. That's about it. I have a long way to go.

He also sent a pencil to use with it, he wants me to tell him how much I like it. Hmm, I need to get to that part first. I see wavy, shaky lines in my future. Artwork? Doubtful.

I'll need to get some kid to come show me how to use this thing. I can't find a "back" place to push, slide, or swipe. Definitely need help!

  1. Once you get the hang of it SJ you will love it. :) I think there is a manual online that you can read. Good luck and have fun! :D

Here is all about it! ,-)

But! You need your son there, to lead you by the hand, while you write everything down. or at least, that's what I'd need! :-)

    Total Wow though! Sooooooo sexy!!!!!!!

  3. And I found this, but you had better ask him, where to go, and what to get, to learn to use it.

    1. Ah, I have the 10.5" one. Can't find a downloadable manual yet. I imagine a previous version will help as well.
      Thanks for your help!

  4. I have had a ipad for a couple of years not and funnily enough my son bought mine for me as well.
I still do not fully understand it and I'm sure there's a lot it does that I haven't found yet.
Recently I bought a magazine called IPad for Seniors, easy to follow illustrated guides, sounds simple doesn't it but I bet I still get in a pickle with it. lol
Good luck, I know you'll love it when you get going. I love the bbc iplayer radio app, great for audio books etc.

  5. When I have trouble with a new Mac product I call them up for help. My daughter, though very tech savvy, hates Mac and pretends to know nothing about them.

  6. Is there a company that will send someone out to help you set it up.
Once set up it's easy. But setting it up can be a pain
Try looking in settings and if all else fails ring the help line. They are very good
    Good luck. I love mine

  8. The instructions are somewhere online. Google the device and see what you can find.
Or I could lend you my daughter K, she'll work it out in no time, but you'll have to listen fast as she talks a mile a minute and she needs to be home in time to go to work tomorrow :D

  13. I'm 77 and have three iPads, but not a Pro. I always get Apple Care so I can phone for support for a couple of years, but you should have 90 days of free support. Don't hesitate to phone them and tell them you need help setting it up. It wouldn't hurt, and it might help a lot.

  15. I love Apple products! All my pictures are saved in the cloud and I can go to my local Walmart with my iPhone and print straight from my phone . I can't wait for fall to get here. 🍂🦉🍁🎃
