Spring in my neck of the woods

 Dogwood and Blackberry Bushes
Greening - far end of meadow
 Flowering Crab n Flowering Plum
(only looks like the plum is dead)
Buds filling up across the road.
Springing across the street near the pond.
Fig trees - ALIVE! (Please don't freeze, please don't freeze.)
Heavy haze in the trees by the pond.

Allergy alerts have been out for a short while already. The fine mostly neon yellow/green pollen covers most everything. Now, if it doesn't freeze again, things should green up nicely by the end of the month! I hope y'all are having a fine weekend!

  1. Love it when the trees start flowering. Hate that pollen, you're right, it's everywhere.

    1. Spring is my favorite time of year - except for that pollen.

  2. 😒 I believe part of my problem is allergies. Ugh. These season changes do not do well with me.

    1. It shouldn't be long and it will rush in on you too, pollen and all!

  6. Spring is in full force here. The Oak has been high for days and with the March winds blowing some days it has caused us to sneeze our heads off.

    1. That sneezing is pretty rough! How do we ever get through spring allergies?

  7. Finally we are having cooler weather. Those that are really delicate have already had heaters going. But me I just out a cardigan on and enjoyed the cool fresh air through open doors and windows. Until the rains came lol

    1. I have the window open this morning - very refreshing. I'll have to shut the window as soon as the dew dries and the pollen starts flying around again. Your autumn happens quite abruptly - just like ours, LOL!

  8. I love this time of year and am always amazed how - literally overnight - the buds burst on trees and shrubs. My garden is really colourful right today.

  9. I'll say it too: please don't freeze, please don't freeze. Figs are one of my favourite fruits. Not the first favourite, but they're in the mix. Nice that you're seeing signs of spring at last. We're feeling the touch of autumn now, cooler days and chilly nights.

    1. I think one year I had living branches and buds on the fig trees. They usually freeze and start fresh from the bottom, that's why it's such a mess. The new growth is quite weak, but the birds love using them as vantage points and I'm to feeble to start over. :-/

  10. -happy sigh- All that lovely spring! When I look out the window, I see lingering snow.

But not happy sigh, to the pollen allergy stuff. :-(

Although I have been tested, and I am not allergic to anything. they told me, that I sneeze when grass is cut, because of the irritation, from the dust which is raised by the cutting. Hmmm... Maybe pollen feels like dust, to my nose???????? lol.

    Happy April hugs,

  12. Just beautiful! We just returned from FL to central NY. The contrast is stark. Lots of brown and dirty snow. But I see a few signs of spring and know that it can't be too far away.

    Thanks for sharing SJ

    1. The contrast had to be a shock to your systems. At least you don't have super cold temps. Spring will happen soon. :-)

  13. I love, love, love that spring is in the air. And I'm totally with you on your "please don't freeze, please don't freeze" chant. Today was a beautiful day. Plenty of sunshine, plenty of warmth. I'm hoping it stays this way from now on. I say that. The other day it was freezing cold and snowing. Ugh. Hopefully that was the last of it tho!

    1. Sorry your spring is so slow. :-(
Give it a couple of weeks and it will probably come in a rush and all the drab will be forgotten. :-)

  16. That looks very similar to our countryside at the moment though the recent few days of sunshine has brought it to life a bit.

    1. It's springing, there is quite a change between the shots I took on Friday and how it looks this morning! Gotta love April!
