Vet Visit

DH and Dollie took the animals to the vet for their annual shots and checkups today.

Jill: Healthy and fine.

Jack: Has ringworm - funny, it looks exactly like the fungus she gave us pills for last year that cleared up in a few weeks. This time he has to have bathing treatments for six weeks and he is going to stink. I can't wait.

Tacky: Has tapeworm and roundworms. Guess who had to dose her? It did go pretty well though, she was happy to see me and I wrapped her snugly in a baby blanket. Next week's dose? I will have to catch her first. Haha. BTW, that huge cat weighs all of 8 pounds, it's all fluff.

I'm glad that is over for a year, Jill goes completely paranoid. This year's wallet hit - $415. Wish we could use it for a tax deduction!

  1. I should have been a vet!
Good to see that all will survive. Tacky must eat a lot of wild critters, right?

    1. Vets usually have better hours. That was all three of them in less than 15 minutes!

    2. She had been, think she's pretty well cleared her territory of moles etc.

  3. yep. vet bills can be pretty steep. just an ear infection alone can run over a hundred dollars. Gracie's surgery's were over a thousand a piece. Well, at least you have that done for the year :-)

    1. Should be done, barring tooth problems or other fun stuff.

  4. Sounds like you're doing a good job with your pets even though it is costly. The black cat is beautiful.

  5. Our Ellie cat was also at the vet at the start of Decmber and to confirm she has arthritis via X-ray the bill came to $500!
she is not good on the med as it gives her plugged bowels :(
A bath using Borax soap may help you pet with ringworm.
that stuff can work wonders. Check the web.
I'm going to add tiny bit of MSM to cat"s water to see if it helps her arthritis.

    1. Poor Ellie, can't imagine hurting and not being able to tell you.
      That was a bit pricey!
Vet has Jack on special shampoo and a sulfur dip - the whole house reeks! Cannot imagine six weeks!
I don't think the MSM could hurt her. No idea what to do for her bowels.
