Daylight Savings Time

I really dislike the time changes. Why don't they just go to half past and leave it alone?

Very foggy here this morning. I've been awake, watching it begin at the bottom of the hill, until it engulfed the house. I think it should lift pretty soon.

The peaches are blooming, I believe this is way early. The wood have that early spring haze about them. My allergies are already bothering me.

DH needs to check the chimney, we had a cowbird come in last week. I heard it and looked at Jill. Wish I had the camera ready, she had such a WTH look on her face! J came and rescued the poor thing, it was hitting one window and then another for a couple of hours.

I woke up early. Had a story running through my head. Even though I don't write anymore, I still do story outlines in my head ...

DH almost through 'shut down' at work. He will soon be looking for another job. There are times when I wish he had a regular job with set days and hours.

There really isn't anything going on. I did buy McMillan and Wife, The Equalizer, and the complete set of Columbo. That should do me for a while.

  1. Having a bird and a dog in the house at the same time can be quite an experience usually ending in something getting broken. I'm sure Jill enjoyed it.

  2. I'm with you on daylight savings time, I changed the clocks and now here I sit in the dark, just where in heck is the daylight? I bet Jill did get excited once the bird got inside...probably more excitement than you wanted.

Here's hoping the job situation works itself into something good for DH, regular hours are nice but I supposed it's what you get used to.

  4. Our time changes the week after next I think. My bedside clock still reads the 'old' time i.e. it's an hour fast. I've grown used to that. Maybe'll I put it on another hour ...

What is a cowbird?! I have imagined one and will put it on my blog!

    1. Cowbirds are basically black with a coppery sheen to the head. They lay their eggs in other birds nests to let them raise their offspring. I don't like them much.

  5. I am with you on daylight savings. We start ours too early and finish it too late.
Sigh on the allergy front. My life was miserable until I had a course of desensitising injections. The process wasn't fun, but I am rarely bothered now. I hope you can find relief.

  6. I dislike the time change too and the allergies which I've had today bad from the wind blowing hard. That must have been irritating to have that bird hitting the windows over and over.

  7. I don't care for the changes either but if it has to be one way or the other, I would say I like it this way best of all.

  8. Mmm, peaches, fresh from the tree, sunwarmed and juicy.
I don't think there should be any time changes at all, not even a half hour. Let the world have its own time zones and all us interlopers can just work with it for a change. With global internet available at all hours there's simply no need for clock changing.
I don't remember Macmillan and Wife, I do remember watching it, but so long ago now. Columbo too, with his trench coat.

  9. I hate allergies. I get them in the autumn as well as spring.
I’ve been sneezing and have had itchy, sore dry eyes
The days are getting shorter here. Now when I drive to the pool first thing in the morning it’s very very dark
Not good with my eyes. So the short ten minute drive is very intense.
    Take care xx

  10. We're due for clock changes soon, what a chore that is. We're going into spring though so I'll be glad to see the back of our awful winter. Like you, I have stories running through my head... wish I could transfer them to paper without having to work at it haha.

  11. I must be one of the few, but I love the time changes... especially springing forward. This may be more due my very Northern location, where getting the extra daylight in the evening in Spring feels so, so glorious and enlivening. And, though, in the Fall... it happens in such a way that it is already dark in the evening and we get a beautiful albeit brief return to morning light. I truly look forward to both even with having to change the damn clocks.

  12. DST makes no sense to me. Now I have to turn on the lights in the morning instead of the evening. InIna a few weeks it won't matter anyway.
    Beautiful blossoms!

  15. Good luck about your husband finding another job soon. That must be a worry.

I don't mind DST. Most of our clocks change automatically, which helps a lot.
